While you get up to speed on the Workday implementation across the UW system, take some time to get to know the Administrative Transformation Program all-star team members who make our work possible. This month, we’re sitting down for a Q&A with Jeanette School, a senior business analyst on the Finance Strategy Team.

What’s your hometown?
#MilitaryKid! I spent my early years in Gwinn, Michigan, moved around a bit after the base closed, and eventually settled in Suring, Wisconsin.

How long have you worked for the Universities of Wisconsin, where, and in what roles?I’ve been with the University of Wisconsin–Madison for almost eight years, working as a Senior Business Analyst in the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), specifically in the Project Portfolio Management Office (PPMO).

What’s your role and team on ATP?
I’ve been involved with ATP since its inception in January 2019. I initially worked on the Discovery, Pre-planning, and Planning Teams, helping lay the groundwork for the program. I then transitioned to the Finance Team, supporting key financial initiatives. Currently, I’m part of the Budget Design Team, focusing on designing and implementing solutions to improve budget processes.

Why did you want to work for ATP?
I wanted to work for ATP because, having been involved in the ERP assessment before the program started, I saw firsthand how complex and fragmented the university’s administrative systems and processes were. During that initial assessment, we discovered over 400 ancillary systems, which highlighted the urgent need for a unified, efficient solution. Being part of that discovery process made me deeply invested in the transformation ATP is driving.

What is a fun fact about you?
The same week I moved back to Wisconsin from Florida and started at UW, I spent a few days in Cuba, immersing myself in the rich culture, history, and vibrant energy of both Havana and Viñales. It was the perfect adventure to close my chapter in St. Petersburg and start fresh in Madison.
