Check out the data in Tableau workbooks

When Workday goes live in July 2025, staff across the Universities of Wisconsin will be able to access legacy data from Shared Financial System (SFS), Human Resource System (HRS), and their associated data warehouses (EPM and SFMart), along with Workday data. All of this information will be stored on the Enterprise Analytics Platform (EAP).

The EAP team has created a library of workbooks for staff to access the information they will need to create reports for future decision-making. Workbooks that include Workday data are also in development for your review.

HR and finance staff, as well as Institutional Research teams, grant teams, and data analysts, are invited to review Powerpoint summaries of the new Tableau workbooks. You can also attend a Zoom meeting or watch the recordings for any of the topics.

For workbooks relevant to your role:

  1. The EAP team is seeking feedback about what filters and data are missing or how the workbooks can better serve your reporting needs. The team will continuously update the workbooks to serve you better.
  2. Request access to the actual workbook by submitting a Tableau Server Request. It will be forwarded to your university’s data steward for review and approval.

Access to the workbooks is based on your Workday security group. If you have access to a workbook, you will also have access to the data behind the workbook. You will be able to create your own dashboards or drag and drop information into a new workbook to meet your reporting needs.

If you want to learn more about how to use the data, create your own dashboards, or create workbooks, join the Tableau Community of Practice. The group has been sharing insights and generating ideas as they learn. If you’re a Tableau expert, please join to share your expertise.
