While you get up to speed on the Workday implementation across the UW system, take some time to get to know the Administrative Transformation Program all-star team members who make our work possible. This month, we’re sitting down for a Q&A with Julie Millis, a member of the General Ledger/FDM Design Team.
What’s your hometown?
Black River Falls, Wisconsin. I currently live in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
How long have you worked for the Universities of Wisconsin, where, and in what roles?
I started at UW-Stevens Point in 2012. I held roles as grant assistant and accountant in the General Ledger Department. I also filled in as bursar for a year and helped integrate the Marshfield and Wausau branch campuses into the Student Information System.
What’s your role and team on ATP?
I’m a member of the General Ledger/FDM team. Along with mapping Shared Financial System (SFS) funding combinations to Workday values, I am working on creating spend and revenue categories that will provide more granular details for our financial transactions posting to the general ledger accounts.
Why did you want to work for ATP?
I wanted to help design consistent efficient processes for the Universities of Wisconsin.
What is a fun fact about you?
I enjoy landscaping. Each year I find an area in our yard to create a new feature. This year’s plan is to add a fairy garden around an old oak stump.
