As the University of Wisconsin System works to understand the wide-ranging financial and resource implications of the COVID-19 pandemic response, the Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) will slow its request to the Board of Regents to authorize moving the program into Phase 1.
“UW is in the early days of grappling with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic,” ATP Program Director Nick Tincher said. “It’s our responsibility to better understand the financial landscape before seeking approval to advance.”
Changes include pausing the selection of a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system. The program will also reassess the selection process for a system implementation partner. Meanwhile, the ATP team will continue preplanning activities as scheduled and begin planning work, which will be modified to reflect the current situation.
ATP’s Executive Sponsors, UW System Vice President for Administration Rob Cramer and UW–Madison Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Laurent Heller, will still present on ATP at the Board’s April 2 meeting. They will share the program’s progress to date and emphasize the need for the administrative improvements to be delivered by ATP.
“We understand this change may raise questions within UW’s administrative communities,” Tincher said. “We hope anyone interested in ATP will continue to share their insights on the ATP website and reach out with questions.”
Tincher also expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support of ATP.
