While you get up to speed on the Workday implementation across the UW system, take some time to get to know the Administrative Transformation Program all-star team members who make our work possible. This month, we’re sitting down for a Q&A with IT change strategist Natali Petkova.
What’s your hometown?
I was born in Vidin, Bulgaria, but my family moved to Chicago in 2000. I consider both places home because I’ve visited Bulgaria almost every summer since the move.
How long have you worked for the Universities of Wisconsin, where, and in what roles?
I joined the Universities of Wisconsin in my current role in October of 2023.
What’s your role and team on ATP?
I am the ATP IT change strategist on ATP’s Change Management Strategy Team. I am a project manager and certified change management practitioner. In my role, I collaborate with the ATP Integrations Team to bring stakeholders the right information at the right time through the right channels.
My efforts are primarily focused on communication (e.g., strategic plans, emails, newsletters, web pages), engagement (e.g., coordinating and facilitating virtual event series such as the ATP Technical Curriculum), and data collection and analysis (e.g., running stakeholder-wide surveys, generating findings, and making strategic recommendations).
Why did you want to work for ATP?
I was eager to apply my change and project management experience to help the Universities of Wisconsin on the journey toward greater efficiency, security, standardization, and effectiveness. I was — and continue to be — excited that I’m part of such a massive project with so many talented colleagues.
What is a fun fact about you?
After I complete a course and obtain my license this fall, I can’t wait to take my motorcycle out on Wisconsin’s Rustic Roads!
