The ATP team recently concluded a dress rehearsal for the cutover to Workday. From January 28 through March 30, they loaded over 6 million converted data records and executed thousands of cutover tasks and validation activities to ensure a smooth transition from our current systems to Workday.
The team completed the same cutover activities that will take place from May 27 through go-live on July 7. They also replicated when the work will be done, during 24/7 shifts.
“After several years of designing processes, building them in Workday, and testing with our business areas, the dress rehearsal confirmed that we could successfully transition from our current systems to Workday,” said Nysa Stricker, ATP Cross-Functional Systems Solutions Strategy Lead. “We loaded and validated millions of rows of data and processes, building confidence in our plans to cut over to Workday this July.”
A successful implementation across the Universities of Wisconsin requires thousands of tasks with dependent timelines be completed over a six-week period. The dress rehearsal allowed the team to make sure that communications and workflows are synchronized. They learned how they’ll work efficiently to hand off information to the next shift or to team members providing backup.
Practicing the cutover activities helped the team identify gaps, create contingency plans, and adjust work schedules. The team will continue to fine-tune as they prepare for May 27, when the actual cutover period begins.
