Starting July 2024, UW System employees will be able to access all of the features of Workday with just one click. That might leave you wondering: Will Workday replace portals we use now, like MyUW, to access resources like time and absence and Canvas courses? No, it won’t, but portals like MyUW may look different once Workday goes live.
At UW-Madison, MyUW will retain similar features to those you use today. Rather than clicking on individual tiles for tasks like payroll information and time and absence, you will go to a single Workday tile to find important employee information, manage your self-service tasks, and more. Tiles for ShopUW+, Canvas, and other sites you see now will still be available.
At the 12 comprehensive institutions or UWSA, the two portals you use now will be merged into one. This consolidated portal will have a link to Workday, as well as links to the online resources you access now from a separate portal. Combining these resources into a single space will provide you with quick access to important employee information and self-service features.
Within Workday, the Home Page provides easy navigation for quick access to your profile, as well as payslips and payment elections, your time and absence calendar, professional development, and much more related to your employment. It will also provide access to daily work for staff who handle business processes in finance, human resources, and research administration.
